Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you all are having a good week and are enjoying the sunshine. Following my days off, today (08/04/26) was my first day back and I have listed at the bottom of this e-mail the locations I have visited during todays patrol. I have also listed the dates, times and locations of upcoming Police Street Surgeries.
Increased Patrols
Following the recent burglaries that have taken place on The Lea, Barnwell Gr and the attempted burglary on Wilson road, I frequently attended these locations during my evening patrols last week. At the time of writing I am happy to report that we have received no further reports of incidents or problems at these locations. During my evening shifts this week I will continue to attend these locations frequently.
Rough Sleeper – The Canal
On 06/04/26 officers attended the canal due to concerns for a female who was rough sleeping in close proximity to the steps that lead to Longton Road. The female was given support by the officers and taken to a local shelter. Following a further sighting yesterday (07/04/26) by a member of the public, I have attended the canal today and patrolled from Longton Rd to the Burrington Dr bridge, however there was no signs of any rough sleepers. If you do have any concerns regarding rough sleepers, please call 101 (non-emergencies) or 999 (emergencies). Non-emergency incidents can also be reported by visiting www.staffordshire.police.uk
Hanford Village Residents Association – Litter Pick On 11/04/26 there will be a litter pick and everyone is welcome. If you would like to take part, please meet at 10am at the Wilson Rd entrance to Hanford Park. Bags, gloves and litter pickers will be provided.
Events and Care Home visits On 31/03/26 I attended the ‘Traditional Remedies, Kitchen Cupboards Cures’ talk at the Trentham Community Library, Allerton Rd. It was a very well attended event and it was nice to say hello to residents and visitors. I did speak to the organisers regarding completing a talk myself, which I am hoping to do in the very near future.
If there are any events taking place on the area, please let me know and I can advertise them on here.
On 31/03/26 I attended the monthly residents Meeting at Hanford Court Care Home. As I have previously said, I believe its very important to ensure that residents in our care homes know that they are very much part of our community and that they have their say on what they would like the neighbourhood policing team to focus on. It was really nice to see everyone and thank you again to the management team at the home for the invite – I look forward to seeing you all again very soon!
Found Watch
On 07/04/26 a watch has been found in Hanford Park. If anyone knows of who the owner might be, if you could please reply to this message and I will be in touch – thank you.
